Hexayurt - Sonali Saini

This is the hexayurt made by two sheets of paper. This is designed for the regions which have high temperatures. The roof of hexayurt is kept white as this colour is a good reflector, absorbs only 20% of the sunlight and maintains low temperature inside. This reduces the electricity consumption by air conditioners, thus saving energy. Besides saving energy, white roofs tend to last longer. Changing temperature causes a roof to expand and contract. White roofs expand less in summer.
