To make this hexayurt I began by analyzing the basic shape of the hexayurt and then drew an origami rough sketch and tried it out on an A4 paper as a prototype.
Using the prototype as a reference sheet I scaled it to look larger.I made the the origami sketch in such a way that it requires only one sheet of paper which I cut and glued. It turned out to be a time saving method as it took me no more than 15 to 20 mins for my final hexayurt.
The top triangle roof was 3 inches
The middle rectangle was about 4.5 inches.(it should have been 4)
The bottom flaps were around 2 inches.
Making the prototype helped because then I realized that I should make an extra seventh side so that it overlaps with the 6th while pasting and gives it more strength.
I also added an extra base at the bottom for strength.
This is really good! Can you add one more pic for scale - to show how big or small the yurt is?
